The course is designed to develop the key attributes and skills required by senior and middle managers in a range of business areas, commerce and industry, public sector and professional accounting. The graduate can choose to study a particular area or areas of business, combined with a period of approved professional practice experience and/or research,providing the graduate the opportunity to test their theoretical understanding against the reality of the workplace. Students who do not complete the full course may qualify for an early exit award. Graduate Certificate of Business Administration if they have successfully completed 4 units (40cps) or Graduate Diploma of Business Administration if they have successfully completed 8 units (80 cps).


Course transfer into the Master of Business Administration (Professional Practice) will not be permitted during 2010. Students who wish to transfer may follow the application process through SATAC but need to be aware the Professional Practice units will not be introduced until 2011.

Successful completion of a recognised bachelor's degree or the Graduate Certificate and/or Graduate Diploma in Business Administration. Non-graduates will be considered for admission on the basis of such criteria as professional qualifications with supporting evidence of significant accomplishment at work. Such applicants will be contacted by the School to supply detailed curriculum vitae.

The course consists of a total of 160 credit points, comprising of 40 credit points of core units, 80 credit points from a sequence (specialist electives) and 40 credit points of approved Professional Practice. The sequences focus on six areas of study: Commercial Management, Public Management, Enterprise Development, Information Systems, Professional Accounting and International Business.



A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 160 credit points as detailed below. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless indicated.
