The Graduate Certificate of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education focuses on the professional development of academic staff. The course aims to enable teaching staff to develop the core skills, versatility, competence and confidence to teach effectively in higher education. It also offers experienced teaching staff the opportunity to further develop this aspect of their work and to obtain formal recognition as a postgraduate qualification.

Admission to this course is not permitted via SATAC or via course transfer from another PG course.

Applicants must have a bachelor degree from a recognised tertiary institution or have such other qualifications or experience that are of a satisfactory standard and are suitable preparation for entry to the program.

This course is only available to staff employed at Charles Darwin University who are in a teaching role or in a direct teaching support role or similar. Applicants must be in a position to apply their learning to current teaching in higher education and to reflect upon it.

Commonwealth Supported places are available in this course to students who meet one of the following residency requirements: (a) Australian Citizenship; (b) a New Zealand citizen or a permanent resident visa holder who will be resident within Australia for the duration of the unit.
