Unit Catalogue

This unit comprises students' final clinical placement. By the end of this unit students will have developed the clinical skills required of a Graduate Clinical Audiologist and will have the ability to critically reflect on and develop their own clinical practice. Students will become independent in an increasing number of clinical areas and have greater involvement in complex testing and cases. Students will be supervised by an accredited audiologist. Students are expected to attend up to 20 days of clinical placement during this unit. Whilst consideration to place of residence is taken into account, students should anticipate travel as clinical placements can take place across the Northern Territory or interstate including in rural, regional, or remote locations. This unit is partly assessed by a face-to-face clinical exam which is a hurdle requirement. Students should expect to spend a minimum of 1 day on the Casuarina campus, Darwin to complete this exam. This exam will occur during the same week as teaching intensive for AUD523. Clinical exam practice sessions will be held across the intensive week. Students will be expected to pay for their placement related expenses such as transport and accommodation.
