Unit Description

Allied health businesses are challenged in the 21st century by rapid changes. For business success in the field of allied health owners and managers need to have effective planning and management skills. This unit is specifically designed for allied health students covering fundamental business and management, business analysis and planning, leadership, human resource management, business law and the regulatory environment, professional, ethical and legal obligations. Students will apply and evaluate core business theories and techniques while reflecting on their own competencies relative to their targeted allied health field.

1.	Critically assess the health, policy and business environments in which allied health businesses operate and appropriately respond to changes;
2.	Evaluate relevant professional, ethical and legal obligations of allied health owners and managers;
3.	Identify business challenges in specific areas of allied health business;
