Professional practice unit 2 (urban and regional) involves an integrated placement of primarily clinical practice and food systems and services, but also inclusive of research, community and public health nutrition. This integrated placement mirrors the generalist dietetic skills required in rural and remote practice. Students will participate in ten weeks of full-time supervised work placement in an urban or metropolitan health or community government or non-government organization in the NT supervised by an Accredited Practising Dietitian. It is anticipated that the focus will be primarily on medical nutrition therapy and food systems, however the unit is also inclusive of community and public health nutrition as guided by the placement organisation's requirements.
Students will require confirmation from the Course Coordinator of their DET603 placement, prior to unit enrolment.
Online enrolment is not available for this unit. To enrol, complete the Special Enrolment form accessed via the eForms tile through CDU Portal.
