This unit involves an investigation of the theory and practice of assessment and quality assurance in the context of national and international performance discourses in education and training. Students will investigate key claims about assessment and quality assurance. They will explore data collection strategies used to inform student learning and organisational quality audits. Students will apply their learning to a specific area of assessment or quality assurance in a workplace. At the end of the unit students will be able to communicate with confidence the key strengths and critiques of contemporary assessment and quality assurance processes and propose solutions to address issues of diverse knowledge practices, inclusion and unequal social privilege.
