Unit Description

The unit provides an understanding of the concepts of electromagnetism and communication technology. It covers Maxwell's equations, electromagnetic wave propagation in waveguides, transmission lines, and antenna and array systems. It also covers components and system parameters of transmitter and receiver systems. Students will learn various analogue signal modulation formats, which have applications in analogue communication systems.

1.	Demonstrate basic knowledge of electromagnetic wave propagation in waveguides, and Maxwell's equations.
2.	Analyse and solve transmission line and electromagnetic problems.
3.	Identify the various components of communication systems.
4.	Analyse and resolve issues in analogue communication systems.
5.	Effectively communicate ideas and principles related to Electromagnetics and Communication Technology.
