In this unit, preservice teachers will learn concepts and processes for the constructive teaching and learning and assessment of Chemical and Biological sciences appropriate for primary school students. Preservice teachers will engage with scientific content, inquiry skills and planning, and designing learning experiences that will develop a repertoire of teaching strategies, pedagogical content knowledge, and management skills. Preservice teachers will be required to construct a repertoire of context-specific formative and summative assessment practices to provide targeted constructive feedback.
