This unit will focus on the main research methodologies used in health care, including how results inform and have probable implication for practice. Student will examine suitable research methods to address a topic aiming to improve practice, within health care. Ethical consideration in relation to research will be studied. The importance of empirical data and evidence- based practice will be discussed in relation to quality and safety of health care. The dissemination and implementation of research results will be discussed, and students will develop a project proposal, related to their own area of health care, in preparation for HEA573 Applied Health Project B.
