Unit Description

This unit explores the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in modern multidisciplinary healthcare, focusing on AI architecture, safe implementation, ethical considerations, and emerging innovations. Students will critically evaluate AI technologies in healthcare settings, assess their advantages and risks, and explore future trends in AI-driven multidisciplinary healthcare. Students will gain an understanding of the foundations of AI Architecture in Healthcare and its safe and ethical Implementation. Students will gain insight into transparency, reproducibility and generalisability in AI and its implementation into practice. To close out the module students will critically analyse current real-world AI and current and future trends.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Critically analyse AI Architecture, including core components, algorithms, and models used in healthcare AI applications.
2.	Critically evaluate AI safety in the clinical setting.
3.	Critically appraise and apply artificial intelligence solutions to enhance best practice healthcare.
4.	Determine and critically review current and emerging AI technologies in healthcare.
