| In this unit, students will explore the processes of colonisation from an Indigenous persons' perspective as a colonised subject. Students will analyse the enduring impact of the processes of colonisation upon individuals, cultures and societies of contemporary Indigenous Australia and examine ideas and practices underpinning Indigenous and non-Indigenous interpretations and representations of Australian history. Students will engage with the long traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social action and resistance, and the ongoing production of an Indigenous counterhistory.
