Unit Description

This unit introduces students to concepts, principles and techniques used in architectural design with a focus on space, structure, materiality and human experience. Students will develop their design process through the generation and exploration of ideas which are translated into architectural solutions. A foundation in hand drawing, technical drawing and rendering techniques is provided to support students in communicating their architectural design projects.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Design small to medium scale architectural projects using appropriate methodologies and processes.
2.	Analyse and apply architectural and design theory, concepts and principles.
3.	Evaluate and apply materials, construction and environmental knowledge applicable to small to medium scale projects.
4.	Apply communication skills to present architectural design solutions.
5.	Revise and refine projects in response to feedback.
