In this unit students will evaluate and apply morphological (word structure) and syntactic (sentence structure) analyses to various natural languages. They will develop theoretical and applied understandings of key morphological and syntactical concepts and terms that are found across the world's languages. Students will use these developed understandings to analyse datasets from various languages and discuss these analyses with appropriate terminology. By considering case studies from diverse languages of Australia and around the world, participants will apply concepts to real-world scenarios, such as relating morphological and syntactic notions to language teaching and learning strategies.
