| This unit is part of the Indigenous Pre-Accounting Program and is offered to Indigenous students who are considering applying for entry in a business accounting program.
The Indigenous Pre-Accounting Program runs as an intensive over four weeks and introduces students to the field of accounting studies. Students will engage in learning activities that will prepare them for a successful participation in an accounting program by exploring foundational business concepts as well as developing initial study skills. As such, the unit will focus on writing and numeracy skills, and introduce students to the use of programs like Word and Excel for successful studies. Students will explore academic writing, business communication, and will learn about different accounting career paths. Furthermore, as part of their learning experience, they will hear from Indigenous accountants and join business site visits.
