| This unit is for students enrolled in the Indigenous Pre-Business Program and is offered to indigenous students who are considering applying for entry in a business program.
The indigenous pre-business program runs as an intensive over four weeks and introduces students to the field of business studies. Students will engage in learning activities that will prepare them for a successful participation in a business program by exploring foundational business concepts as well as developing initial study skills. As such, the unit will focus on business writing and numeracy skills and introduce students to the use of programs like Word and Excel for successful business studies. Students will explore academic writing, business communication and will learn about different business study areas like management, and leadership, finance, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Furthermore, as part of their learning experience, they will hear from business managers and join business site visits.
