Unit Catalogue

In this unit, students will further enhance their professional practice through an additional 8 weeks of laboratory experience. They will reinforce their laboratory knowledge and skills, gaining experience in compliance, regulation, safety, and quality control and assurance, which are required for accurate and reliable testing services. Students will be required to understand the various laboratory functions, individual roles and responsibilities, accurate interpretation and reporting of test results, and the importance of evidence-based practice. Additionally, they will develop professional and ethical workplace behaviours, applying their problem-solving and decision-making skills in demonstrating their initiative and teamwork.

Students are responsible for organising and covering any travel and accommodation expenses related to the placement. Students are advised to plan and budget accordingly for these costs as they are not included in the tuition fees for this unit.
