| Students are required to relate the content, theory and skills, covered in the unit to their work environment. This unit will focus on chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, and end stage renal disease and students will discuss the potential for complications related to these conditions. Students will discuss how to assess, refer, and plan the managements of complications in collaboration with the medical renal team. Additionally, they will explore renal replacement therapy, such as peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation as options when patients reached end stage renal disease. |
