This unit exposes the student to contemporary evidence and research in the speciality area of cardiothoracic nursing. Students will extend their current knowledge of cardiac and respiratory anatomy and physiology as they build a deeper understanding of cardiothoracic conditions that require surgical intervention. Using inquiry-based learning and case studies students will explore their influence as the registered nurse during the recovery process and promote person-centred and culturally safe care.
This unit is only available to students enrolled in the USURN1 Graduate Certificate of Surgical Nursing and SCNU01 Master of Clinical Nursing.
