PRT 551 - Project Management, Risk and Reliability
Asset security describes measures that are designed to deny access to any unauthorised personnel from accessing a building and its assets. Risk management is concerned with guidance on how to design structures to resist security threats. This unit discusses the threats, vulnerabilities and countermeasures that can be utilised to protect enterprise resources and sensitive information. Students will gain skills in identification and classification of information and physical assets, and the development, documentation, implementation and updating of policies, standards, procedures and guidelines to ensure Confidentiality Integrity Availability (CIA) is not compromised. Comprehensive selections of security risk management techniques including qualitative and quantitative methods are also discussed. Other topics discussed include risk mitigation, risk transference and business continuity planning. This unit covers the Asset Security and Security Risk management domains of Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification. The unit is reliant on on-line materials. Students must have access to a reliable high-speed broadband connection.
