Unit Description

Students draw upon the practical, methodological, theoretical and technical tools they have gathered over the duration of the degree to work in teams to complete a complex industry inspired project. Students will conduct research and learn about modern knowledge and skills to effectively build artificial intelligent based products and systems, including topics not limited to deep learning, optimisation techniques, roles of artificial intelligence, its ethics, privacy and security impact in organisation, society and the world.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Critically research and analyse the lifecycle of an artificial intelligence and machine learning system in relation to data and computing resources through an organisation.
2.	Design and develop an artificial intelligence solution to a real-life problem, using critical analyses of different methodologies and frameworks appropriate for customer and business success.
3.	Plan an artificial intelligence-based project demonstrating knowledge of the lifecycle of artificial intelligent systems and their requirements.
4.	Work effectively in a team demonstrating a nuanced approach to project management appropriate for the project context and needs.
5.	Critically evaluate ethical, privacy, and security concerns associated with artificial intelligence.
6.	Demonstrate communication skills (oral, and written) to successfully convey ideas and principles to a diverse audience within and beyond the project team.
