Unit Description

In this unit students will undertake a work integrated learning placement in the community. On this placement, students will undertake 350 hours of placement, of which a minimum of 150 hours must be direct client contact.
The focus of this placement is to continue the development of competent professional skills in the provision of clinical psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions across the lifespan, with different cultural groups, and in a range of placement settings.

Important Information

The Sydney offering is only available to students who have been given/achieved 80 credit points for the MCP first year. Online enrolment is not available for the Semester 2 Sydney offering. To enrol, complete the Special Enrolment form accessed via the eForms tile through CDU Portal.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Apply respectful interprofessional communication and collaboration to enhance client care.
2.	Apply skills in forming therapeutic relationships with a diverse range of clients, including those with complex presentations.
3.	Apply appropriate assessment and evidence-based treatment models in response to the clients presenting problems.
4.	Synthesise data from a range of sources to plan, implement and evaluate appropriate interventions for clients.
5.	Prepare succinct and professional psychological reports.
6.	Construct accurate and comprehensive client notes and professional records.
