Unit Description

This unit will build on the students knowledge of the theory, assessment, contemporary evidence and management techniques for physiotherapy for complex and multi-regional musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological conditions across the lifespan contexts. Students will further develop clinical reasoning skills for differential diagnosis based on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) using validated outcome measures to improve healthcare provision.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Evaluate the interaction of the body systems and their role in complex and multi-regional musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological presentations
2.	Interpret and apply diagnostic information to support clinical reasoning in the management of patients with complex presentations
3.	Develop effective physiotherapy assessment and intervention plans for complex presentations
4.	Critically evaluate research and clinical guidelines that inform assessment and physiotherapy intervention in complex and multi-regional musculoskeletal, cardiorespiratory and neurological presentations
5.	Interpret and apply clinical knowledge into explanations to clients and care givers, incorporating clients' biopsychosocial needs
