| There have been major advances in areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) in modern times. This unit provides a basic introduction to physical, chemical and biological processes in science and technology within the context of current environmental issues. The unit consists of modules designed for STEM and non-STEM students, and assumes limited knowledge of science and mathematics. Modules examine solar and renewables, climate change, biodiversity and other topics with an emphasis on northern Australia. A STEM practices approach is employed using real-world scenarios to enhance skills and knowledge of Science and its role in society. |
