Unit Description

In this unit, students will delve into biomechanics and movement analysis, gaining a comprehensive understanding of biomechanical principles and their application in analysing human movement. Students will gain an understanding of biomechanical analyses of human movement in daily living activities across different populations. They'll also develop the ability to recognise biomechanical problems in individuals and identify appropriate interventions. Students will investigate the relationships between static and dynamic forces in biomechanics, enhancing their understanding of the underlying principles. By the end of the unit, students will emerge with a strong foundation in biomechanics and movement analysis, prepared to apply their knowledge in clinical and research settings.

1.	Explain how biomechanical principles are used to inform different approaches in biomechanical analysis.
2.	Apply biomechanical analyses of human movement in daily living activities in different populations to recognise biomechanical problems and design appropriate interventions.
3.	Analyse the relationships between static and dynamic forces in biomechanics.
4.	Identify appropriate biomechanical measurements relevant to clinical needs.
5.	Interpret and communicate information and knowledge effectively, professionally, and with respect to both expert and non-expert audiences.
6.	Acquire, interpret, and communicate information and knowledge.
