| This unit provides students with a broad overview of human service work, including: social work, humanitarian work, community work, behavioural science and allied health related disciplines. The historical, cultural, theoretical and philosophical context of human services will be discussed particularly related to the impact of racism experienced by First Nations Peoples. Social justice and human rights will inform the scope, role, function and boundaries of human service workers in the provision of welfare services in Australia. |
