In this unit students will develop a foundation in their theoretical understanding of second language teaching methodologies and apply this understanding to classroom practice. The objectives of this unit are to evaluate second language teaching methodologies in connection with specific teaching contexts, which includes contexts attached to general second language development and specific second language skill development (e.g. reading, writing, speaking, listening). This unit will allow learners to explore teaching and learning of English as a second or foreign language in different contexts, and explore pedagogical decisions applied to the planning and delivery of the second language classrooms.
