| Clinical audiologists must adapt their practice in response to clients' individual needs and circumstances. In this unit, students will learn to apply tools and frameworks such as critical self-reflection, cultural responsiveness and trauma informed care to address the diversity within population groups graduates may come across and develop strategies to work with people in positive and strengths-based approaches. Students will study age-related changes to the auditory system and their impact on healthy ageing and the management of hearing loss. Additionally, through case-based learning, they will develop strategies to practice in ways which are inclusive of hearing status (Deaf/deaf), gender, sexuality, neurodiversity, socioeconomic status, disability and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds including First Nations communities. |
