Unit Description

The unit provides the fundamental concepts of electromagnetism and communication technology. It covers electromagnetic wave propagation in waveguides, transmission lines, various analogue signal modulation formats, and communication systems. It also covers components and system parameters of transmitter and receiver systems. The teaching material for this unit are suitable for students in the technologist level.
