Research Students will be allocated one of three types of places: Research Training Scheme The Commonwealth funded Research Training Scheme (RTS) provides an exemption from course fees (Higher Education Contribution Scheme (HECS)) for eligible students. Students receiving these exemptions are said to have an 'RTS place'.
To be eligible you must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident or citizen of New Zealand enrolled in an appropriate research higher degree. Eligible students may be allocated an RTS place depending on availability. The duration of these exemptions or places is up to a maximum period of three years' for a research professional doctorate, four years' full-time equivalent study for a Doctor of Philosophy degree and two years' full-time equivalent study for a Masters by research.
Fee Waiver Charles Darwin University offers a limited number of fee waiver scholarships to domestic research students. They vary in value according to the course being undertaken and cover all tuition fees for successful applicants. The duration of these scholarships is up to a maximum period of three years' for a research professional doctorate, four years' full-time equivalent study for a Doctor of Philosophy degree and two years' full-time equivalent study for a Masters by research.
