| This unit takes a systems approach to current global and national environmental issues from ecological, economic, social and cultural perspectives. Issues studied include global warming, over- population, land productivity, biodiversity conservation and environmental quality. International and Australian cases are used to illustrate key principles. Although a science background is an advantage in understanding key content, the unit is suitable for students from a wide range of disciplines, since it aims to investigate and compare the approach that various disciplines have developed to interpret and address these problems. |
