Unit Description

This unit enables students to transition from their academic study of Information Technology and/or their areas of study to the broader areas of professional practice through the selection and completion of project topics under the guidance of an academic supervisor, and possibly an external client. The project gives students an opportunity to integrate and apply their prior knowledge and skills acquired in the course in diverse contexts such as industry, community service and simulation based research. Students can choose from a range of project topics provided by the discipline lecturers or depending on their academic results, suggest their own. For students who wish to extend their project for one year, this is possible using a repeatable version of this unit. Students may also elect to complete a second project in an area of interest to extend their employment possibilities.
This unit is reliant on on-line materials. Students must have access to a reliable highspeed broadband connection.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Design, coordinate and implement an ICT-related project in a proactive, professional, ethical and creative manner.
2.	Identify, organize and evaluate electronic resources and information related to the problem .
3.	Communicate effectively using oral and written formats to showcase their professional skills.
4.	Critically examine and reflect on the process and outcomes of the project and their implications for professional practice.

2. 3.	Group Final Report (2-4 Group members) 1000 words per student and individual peer assessment evaluation	40%	1 - Design, coordinate and implement an ICT-related project in a proactive, professional, ethical and creative manner. 2 - Identify, organize and evaluate electronic resources and information related to the problem . 3 - Communicate effectively using oral and written formats to showcase their professional skills. 4 - Critically examine and reflect on the process and outcomes of the project and their implications for professional practice.
4.
