This is the third project unit in the series of applied business sustainability research modules that make up the Graduate Certificate of Business Research and Advanced Business Research specialisation. Collectively these build the knowledge and practical in-depth experience required for conducting more advanced business research, as well as providing a potential pathway to higher degree by research. In the applied quantitative business research project students gain practical experience in the quantitative research process.
Quantitative investigation is used for numerous practical applications in business research, including hypothesis testing and creating models of stakeholder attitudes and behaviour. However, surveys are prone to validity and interpretation challenges since any minor shortcomings in the research process can have major impact upon data reliability, and recommendations are frequently dependent upon the type of analysis performed. In the context of a contemporary business sustainability research issue, students will engage in the quantitative research process. They will design appropriate survey methodology, including questionnaire design, and will engage in the collection analysis and interpretation of quantitative data.
