Unit Description

This unit provides an introduction to the Indonesian language for students with little or no prior knowledge of the language. Students are guided to a basic level of proficiency, in spoken language, grammar and the general structure of conversation. To provide a context, students are also exposed to culture and social issues concerning Indonesia.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Demonstrate beginner level reading and writing competencies in Indonesian language.
2.	Apply language skills to demonstrate fluency at a beginner's level of spoken Indonesian.
3.	Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental aspects of Indonesian culture and compare these to Australian thinking and practices.
