This unit develops professional critical reflection and analysis of contemporary issues relevant to educators and professionals working in early childhood care and education leadership roles. Preservice teachers will undertake planning for an action research project and practical implementation of resilience skills, developing their critical analysis, reflexivity and advocacy skills in relation to a range of contemporary early childhood issues. Preservice teachers will have opportunities to identify and justify their own professional positions and perspectives based on ethical considerations, socio-political positioning, empirical evidence and legislative requirements that govern early childhood contexts. This unit supports preservice teacher's resilience, reflexivity and reflective capabilities for sustained professional growth and continuous quality improvement.
