This unit explores the unique workforce and health service opportunities and challenges for health professionals working in rural or remote areas of Australia. Rural and Remote Health explores factors related to environmental, sociological and cultural considerations and coping with geographical isolation when working in rural and remote areas. Students will be introduced to many health disparities faced by Indigenous and non-Indigenous individuals and the health policies and strategies in action to maintain healthy communities.
