Unit Description

This unit provides each student an opportunity to pursue an independent study on a topic of selected, academic interest in literature, writing an essay worthy of publication whilst under supervision of the lecturer. Students will have negotiated a topic with the lecturer prior to commencement of the semester.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Research and identify a topic of interest within the discipline of literature.
2.	Plan and prepare a research proposal, outlining its methodology.
3.	Evaluate research and review material for critical analysis.
4.	Construct a persuasive, evidence based argument or narrative.
