This unit provides a thematic examination of western political thought from classical Greek and Roman political ideas to contemporary political theories and ideologies. Students examine key concepts such as authority, sovereignty and political obligation, justice, freedom, and rights by examining the political ideas of key thinkers in the western tradition and issues in contemporary political theory.
