This unit examines the social and cultural frameworks that inform long term, generative engagement and partnerships with Indigenous Australians in management of resources on their land and sea estates. Exploration of the social and cultural construction of knowledge and knowledge-making processes provides a foundation for analysing socio-political, socioeconomic and policy drivers of Indigenous engagement and partnerships in the field of land and sea management. The practical application of the principles developed through the examination of case studies will allow students to relate their learning to their own professional contexts.
