The national Literacy and Numeracy Test for Initial Teacher Education (LANTITE) is administered by the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) and examines the personal literacy and numeracy skills of students enrolled in initial teacher education programs. All students in initial teacher education programs must successfully complete LANTITE, with their results from ACER recorded as the requirement for passing this unit. Students are provided with learning materials and a diagnostic test designed to develop their awareness of their personal literacy and numeracy knowledge before sitting the LANTITE tests. Resources will support students to identify areas of need to improve their literacy and numeracy competences.
