| This unit is a continuation of AUD505 (Pediatric Audiology I) - audiological clinical assessment and management for children under 5 years of age. Students will learn about additional diagnostic techniques, such as multi-frequency audiometry and wideband absorbance. Additionally, the unit will focus on best practice in the assessment and management of complex and/or chronic paediatric auditory conditions, including otitis media in First Nations communities, and auditory processing disorders. Students will acquire the clinical decision-making skills needed to select and administer appropriate assessment tests in children, interpret findings, and make appropriate management and referral decisions. Students will be expected to attend 5 days of face-to-face learning on campus as part of their learning for this unit. This intensive take place during the same week as clinical exams (AUD514). Students will be expected to pay for their intensive related expenses such as transport and accommodation |
