This unit covers the critical accounting and corporate finance concepts required by managers. It introduces financial statements and ratio analysis before moving to essential concepts of the time value of money, pricing of financial assets (bonds and equities), the risk-return trade-off, capital budgeting, optimal capital structure, and the relation between corporate governance and sustainability. Upon completing this unit, students will be able to monitor the internal and external environments of businesses to make accurate forecasts and optimise their finances and investments.
