Unit Description

The process of contextualising knowledge and skills and applying them in regional social and cultural settings is an important and valuable outcome from studies in the arts and social science. In this unit, students apply their learning and adapt their knowledge and skills to meet the needs of different social and cultural contexts. Opportunity exist for students to immerse themselves in a language setting, work with an international agency, spend dedicated time with an international or regional artist or designer or build networks for future professional opportunities overseas or in regional north Australia.

Important Information

Placements can be up to 75 hours and can be arranged as one or a number of placement components.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Critically appraise the application of a knowledge-base and skill in a professional placement setting.
2.	Assess the various requirements expected for a chosen placement experience.
3.	Critically reflect on skills and knowledge required for the placement experience and strategies for developing skills to meet requirements.
4.	Identify, execute and evaluate workplans to produce relevant outputs on placement experience.
5.	Assess and respond generatively to inter-cultural interactions while on placements.
