Unit Description

This unit provides students with theoretical and practical foundations of dispute resolution. Students are provided with learning opportunities in the theory and practice of client interviewing, negotiation and mediation. The role of dispute resolution practices in the broader legal system will be examined.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Display a functional knowledge of effective client interviewing skills.
2.	Display a functional knowledge of effective negotiating skills.
3.	Analyse and effectively participate in mediation.
4.	Critique a range of dispute resolution methods and their appropriate use.
