| Students will attend a 150 hour clinical placement covering paediatric and/or adult and/or mixed caseloads to continue to build upon their knowledge of the profession of speech pathology, practice education, and working with clients. This unit will also cover curriculum content to support students' intermediate level clinical skills in the following areas: Administration of communication and swallowing tools and assessments; analysis and interpretation of speech pathology assessment data; progress note and report writing; goal-setting; reflective and ethical practice; roles and service delivery models; and, teamwork and collaborative practice in speech pathology. On completion of this unit, students are expected to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and behaviours which constitute an Intermediate level of competency, as described in the Competency Assessment in Speech Pathology (COMPASSĀ®). Students will also demonstrate application of knowledge, skills, and competencies in a live examination context. Students will be expected to pay for their placement related expenses such as transport and accommodation. |
