Unit Description

This unit is undertaken under the guidance of an academic supervisor through utilising teaching materials to develop the knowledge and skills to produce a literature review. The unit is part of the Honours Thesis unit sequence that is completed over two semesters (or equivalent), covering a total of 60 credit points.

Unit Learning Outcomes

1.	Develop fundamental skills in locating and retrieving digital and non-digital sources to evaluate their reliability and relevance.
2.	Apply logical and critical thinking skills to plan to solve research problems.
3.	Review theoretical knowledge and technical skills relevant to the chosen field of research.
4.	Identify and implement appropriate methods to perform preliminary analyses.
5.	Apply communication techniques to convey scientific and technical information via written or spoken texts.
6.	Identify and reflect on ethical, cultural and other societal considerations in straightforward research situations.
7.	Develop skills in applying initiative, independence, and responsibility to conduct research.
