| This unit is directed at enabling students to undertake data collection, analysis and reporting of an independent research project in the field of applied linguistics. The research project is developed through consultation with a supervisor and is a continuation of the proposal put forward in TES808. The primary aim of the unit is for students to execute data collection and analyse findings in relation to research questions developed for the independent research project. Research permitted in this unit is only of negligible risk with non-vulnerable subjects. Data sources may include policy or curriculum documents, textual or linguistic analysis, secondary analysis of existing data, teaching and learning initiatives, interviews, anonymous surveys, observations, or similar. Through executing the research project with attention to timely completion and academic rigour, students produce a final thesis. |
