Graduate Certificate of Older Person Nursing Care (UOPNC1)

Course Structure

The Graduate Certificate of Older Person Nursing Care provides students with essential knowledge informed by evidence-based practice. Students will complete four 10-credit-point (CP) units in areas including safety and quality in healthcare, care of the older persons, and mental health of the older persons.

In Semester 1, students will complete two 10 CP units focused on safety and quality in aged care and care of the older persons. In Semester 2, students will extend their knowledge by completing two 10 CP units in care of the older adult and management of complex conditions, and mental health of the older persons. The units in the course are carefully constructed and informed by current healthcare needs to support the development of advanced nursing knowledge required when caring for older persons.

A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 40 credit points (cp) as detailed below. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless otherwise indicated.
