Course Structure

Students should, in the first instance, refer to the recommended study plan in the newest version of this course to make their unit selection for the current year.

Every re-enrolling student will be able to complete their current course of study. As a continuing student you should always consider transferring to the newest course version to enable you to take advantage of new and exciting changes to university programs. Students electing not to transfer should refer to the transitional arrangements where provided.

The Diploma of Alcohol and Other Drugs practice can be studied one-year full time or two-years part time and is offered in internal or external mode of study.

The course consists of 8 units which will provide you with a range of skills and knowledge, covering topics such as counselling, trauma assessment and intervention and health promotion.

There is also the opportunity to gain a concurrent VET Diploma in Alcohol and Other Drugs through recognition of prior learning (RPL), thus increasing employment opportunities further.

A candidate must successfully complete units totalling 80 credit points (cp) as detailed below. All units are valued at 10 credit points unless otherwise indicated.
