The qualification describes the skills and knowledge for a range of entry level horticulture job roles. Individuals with this qualification carry out routine tasks under supervision where the work is predictable and structured with limited judgement requirements. 

The qualification is suited to VET programs delivery to secondary school students or learners with no previous connection to the horticulture industry or relevant employment history.

Possible occupations relevant to this qualification include: 

• Horticulture Assistant
• Horticulture Worker

There are no entry requirements for this qualification however to ensure you have the right skills and support to succeed in your course, a Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) evaluation helps identify any areas where you may need additional support to help you achieve your goals. 

Students wishing to gain work experience are encouraged to undertake a voluntary 10 days of work placement. Support finding suitable industry placement can be arranged if requested.
