This qualification describes the skills and knowledge for a range of entry level horticulture job roles.
Individuals with this qualification carry out routine tasks under supervision where the work is predictable and structured with limited judgement requirements.

The qualification is suited to VET programs delivered to secondary school students or learners with no previous connection to the horticulture industry or relevant employment history.

No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.

Start Date	02/02/2026 to 27/11/2026 Students can enrol at any time after the identified start date and will commence at the start of the next available unit. A specific commencement date will be determined in consultation with the delivery team. Trainees will receive an individual call-up notification letter. *A course timetable/study plan will be provided on application for the course.
Attendance	Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm

Accreditation
This is a current, nationally accredited qualification from the AHC Agriculture, Horticulture and Conservation and Land Management Training Package.

Locations and Study Mode
Delivery at all locations is subject to sufficient demand and resources.

Entry Requirements Domestic

A Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy (LLND) evaluation helps identify any areas where you may need additional support to help you achieve your goals.

Students wishing to gain work experience are encouraged to undertake a voluntary 10 days of work placement. Support finding suitable industry placement can be arranged if requested.

Required Resources
Students are issued with CDU learning resources for applicable units. There is a lso a large range of reference books held by the team and in the CDU library for self-study and recommended online sites and resources.

Students are required to provide appropriate PPE such as boots, and clothing including long pants, or long shorts, and a hat. The delivery team at CDU will supply gloves, eye, and hearing protection.

Estimated completion time: 0.5 year/s

This program is delivered over a period of 6 months to 2 years. The length of time to complete this qualification will depend on the location, study mode and/or units selected and will vary depending upon how long a student takes to reach the required competency level.

Student Visa holders must study internally full time
